The Gaura Purnima festival was celebrated at the Hare Krishna Golden Temple in Hyderabad on Monday. A special alankara of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was displayed on the altar for all visitors to see. Devotees offered 56 different types of food items to the Lord as ‘Chappan Bhog’, including sweets, fried items, and fruit juices. In the evening, a grand procession of Gaura Nitai was held, followed by a special ceremony with various offerings like fruit juices, flowers, and panchamritam.
Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, the president of the Hare Krishna Movement, explained that Lord Krishna appeared as Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in Bengal to promote chanting the holy names of the Lord. By chanting the “Hare Krishna Maha Mantra” daily, one can find relief from worldly problems and develop a loving relationship with Krishna. This is considered the ultimate goal in life.
According to Vedic teachings, Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s appearance marks the beginning of a new era where congregational chanting is emphasized. By following in his footsteps, individuals can achieve spiritual enlightenment and closeness to Krishna.
