A tragic event occurred during a benefit screening of the Telugu film Pushpa at Sandhya Theatre, deeply affecting a family. A young boy was severely injured, leaving his family in emotional and financial turmoil. In response, the Telangana State Child Rights Commission stepped in to help.
Through the efforts of Chairperson Kottakota Seetha Dayakar Reddy, the boy’s older sister is now receiving financial help from the Mission Vatsalya scheme. This program, run by the Government of India, aims to protect and empower children in need. The girl will receive Rs 4,000 monthly until she turns 18, ensuring her education and daily needs are met.
The family has already received Rs 12,000 for the past three months, directly deposited into their bank account. They expressed deep gratitude to the Commission, saying this support gives them hope and strength for their daughter’s future.
Commission officials highlighted that this support reflects the government’s commitment to humanitarian values. They emphasized that the Mission Vatsalya scheme is a crucial support system for children affected by tragedies, ensuring they are not forgotten.
The Commission is dedicated to helping more families in similar situations. They stated that initiatives like Mission Vatsalya turn values of care, compassion, and justice into real action. This aid not only relieves one struggling family but also underscores the commitment of both State and Central governments to prioritize children’s welfare. By providing immediate help and long-term security, this initiative serves as a model for how institutional support can change lives after a tragedy.
