The Hyderabad Police have launched a hard-hitting social media campaign against drunk driving, using sharp satire to warn citizens about the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol while citing non-existent legal provisions.

In a strongly-worded public advisory, the city police addressed individuals who attempt to argue with law enforcement officers at 2 AM while intoxicated, claiming knowledge of imaginary legal sections such as Sections 123 and 567 that do not exist in Indian law.

The police outlined several consequences awaiting those who combine alcohol consumption with fictional legal expertise during traffic checks.

Instant social media exposure tops the list, with the advisory warning that such incidents quickly spread across family and friends’ WhatsApp groups and Instagram, creating lasting digital embarrassment. The post stated that social media becomes “a museum of your brilliance” showcasing arguments with police officers.

Vehicle impoundment follows immediately, with the police noting that confiscated cars are taken to detention centers while their owners face legal proceedings. The advisory humorously suggested impounded vehicles are “taking notes on how not to follow your owner’s lead.”

When actual lawyers intervene, offenders face a harsh reality check as real legal sections are read aloud, exposing their false claims. The police emphasized that such confrontations result in complete “ego obliteration” with no possibility of appeal or mercy.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police and Hyderabad City Police jointly issued the warning, emphasizing their zero-tolerance policy toward drunk driving. The campaign aims to discourage citizens from driving under the influence while simultaneously cautioning against making false legal arguments during police checks.

The advisory concluded with a clear message distinguishing between responsible behavior and dangerous misconduct, stating that while fiction books and responsible drinking are acceptable, combining alcohol with driving and pretending to be a legal expert at midnight is not.
