Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has asked officials to set up Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) in 100 assembly constituencies across the State.
He also requested a report on which constituencies currently do not have ITI colleges.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting on Saturday with senior officials from the Labour department. Among those present were Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari and other senior officials. During the meeting, Revanth Reddy announced that the existing ITI colleges in the State would be upgraded to Advanced Technology Centres.
He stressed the importance of addressing the shortage of staff in these institutes. He also urged officials to update the curriculum to meet the needs of current industries.
To ensure the curriculum changes are well-managed, he instructed the formation of a committee with experts. Revanth Reddy also suggested that they could collaborate with the Skill University if needed for effective implementation. Additionally, he asked officials to explore the possibility of setting up new Advanced Technology Centres in polytechnic colleges.
Lastly, the Chief Minister directed officials to create guidelines to bring ITI colleges, Advanced Technology Centres, and polytechnic colleges under the oversight of the Skill University. This would help improve technical skills among the youth in the State.
