Hyderabad: President of Telangana Jagruti, Kavitha, shared that no decision has been made about starting a new party.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, she explained that before forming the BRS, leader K. Chandrashekar Rao consulted many people, a process she is currently following. “I am the first daughter to be suspended from my father’s party,” she stated. Regarding the Kaleshwaram project, she mentioned that Harish Rao told the PC Ghosh Commission that all decisions were made by KCR. She clarified, “I have no personal issues with Harish Rao except for the Kaleshwaram matter.”
Expelled from BRS for anti-party activities, Kavitha stressed she has no intention of joining Congress. She remarked, “No Congress leader has contacted me, nor have I reached out to them. I wonder why Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy keeps mentioning me. Is he thinking of leaving Congress?” Kavitha expressed her commitment to serving everyone, not just a select group.
“The issue of backward classes is important to me. Right now, I feel free. My doors are open to all, and many people are visiting me. I have a long list of BRS leaders communicating with me,” she disclosed.
Earlier, Kavitha pointed out that the Karnataka government plans to acquire 1.30 lakh acres to raise the Almatti dam by 5 meters, aiming to store 100 TMC of water. She questioned, “If that happens, what will the people in the Telangana region do, play cricket in the Krishna River?” She warned, “If the government doesn’t approach the Supreme Court about the Almatti dam, Jagruti will take legal steps.”
