Hyderabad: Intense political tensions have surfaced within the Warangal district Congress. Senior leader Konda Murali met with the TPCC’s Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) on Saturday to address these issues.
Murali filed a counter-complaint against leaders Kadiam Srihari, Revuri Prakash Reddy, and Nayini Rajendar Reddy. He submitted a detailed report accusing them of anti-party activities.
At Gandhi Bhavan, the former MLC, and husband of state Forest Minister Konda Surekha, claimed that certain MLAs and others were undermining Congress interests. He alleged that one MLA was disrupting party operations in his area, while another collaborated with BRS members in illegal stone crushing.
These events follow DAC chairman Mallu Ravi summoning Murali after receiving complaints from several MLAs and local leaders in Warangal.
Murali later expressed to the media his deep respect for Congress, particularly Rahul Gandhi. He stated, “I have no fear of cases. My conscience guides me on whether I spoke correctly.”
On June 19, during Rahul Gandhi’s birthday event, Murali criticized Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari and Parkal Legislator R Prakash Reddy, accusing them of betraying their former parties along with other leaders.
In response, the MLAs convened and complained to PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on June 20. Tensions rose further with the announcement that Murali’s daughter would run for the Parkal seat, currently held by Prakash Reddy, in the next Assembly elections.
The state leadership is seriously considering Murali’s remarks against party MLAs in the Warangal district. AICC incharge Meenakshi Natarajan is also looking into the situation.
