Minister Konda Surekha shared that a meeting took place on Tuesday with officials from various departments to plan the Bonalu Festival. The government requested Rs. 30 crore for the festival, with Rs. 20 crore already set aside. While last year’s event went well, some areas faced challenges. This year, extra steps are being taken to prevent any issues, especially during VIP visits.
Minister Surekha stressed the need to ensure that Joginis have no problems during the celebrations. She aims to enhance the event compared to past years and highlighted positive feedback from neighboring states during the recent Saraswati Pushkaras. Officials have been told to act professionally, respect everyone, and ensure smooth darshan.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar mentioned that officials should update the 2024 plan and prepare well for 2025, avoiding past mistakes. The Bonalu celebrations will start with the first Bonam at Golkonda Jagadambika Ammavari.
A detailed plan is underway to ensure the success of events like the Golkonda Jatara, Balkampet Yellamma Thalli annual wedding, and the Ammavari Ambari procession. Minister Prabhakar noted that with new temples, an additional 10% funding might be needed, urging quick completion of cheque distributions by the endowment and revenue departments.
Both ministers emphasized the responsibility of all departments to maintain the event’s sanctity, focusing on serving the Goddess. They hope the festival will go smoothly with the Goddess’s blessings.
