In Hyderabad, a group of tribal women from Kodangal expressed their deep gratitude to KT Rama Rao by tying Rakhi to him. They remembered how he supported them like a brother during difficult times.
Led by Jyothi from Rotibanda Tanda in Lagacharla village, the women visited Rama Rao’s home to show their appreciation. They shared their past troubles when the government allegedly took away their farmlands, their main means of survival, and harassed their families. Jyothi spoke of her situation, mentioning that her husband was jailed during the struggle over the land.
The women recalled how KTR brought their plight to attention in Delhi, highlighting the unfair treatment of tribal families and farmers. Thanks to his efforts, the land acquisition was halted. He also arranged legal aid for those in prison, leading to their release.
With tears in her eyes, Jyothi expressed, “When our land was taken and my family jailed, KTR anna was there like a true brother. He looked after my health during my pregnancy and even named my baby ‘Bhoomi Nayak’. To me, KTR is a brother sent by God.” She added that KTR is a brother to all women in distress in Telangana. The women felt joyful tying Rakhi to someone who has been a strong support for women in need.
