In Hyderabad, there is a delay in the appointment of 37 nominated posts due to pressure from Ministers who were not consulted beforehand. The GOs for these positions were announced before the Lok Sabha elections, but some Ministers were unhappy with the choices made. This has caused a delay in the finalization of appointments, leaving many leaders waiting to take charge.
Party sources have revealed that several Ministers, including some prominent ones, were dissatisfied with the list of allocations for various corporations, federations, and authorities. They felt that their authority was undermined and that they were not consulted before individuals were named for these key posts. While most Ministers have already selected their preferred candidates, IT and Legislative Affairs Minister Sridhar Babu is yet to approve the new list of nominees.
It is expected that once Minister Babu returns from the US, the GOs will be passed. This process may take about five to six days, with those finalized likely to assume their roles next week. Some leaders who are confident about their appointments are staying quiet, while others are anxious about the final decision. Neither group has been willing to speak to the media about the situation or what is being offered to them.
A few leaders had already taken office before the Model Code of Conduct came into effect. The Congress party is considering whether to add more names to the list of 37 appointed posts. It is likely that over a dozen new names will be included in the updated list of nominated positions.
