Hyderabad: Early Wednesday morning, two fires were quickly extinguished thanks to the swift action of the Telangana Emergency Response Support System Dial-112. This system operates from the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC) in Banjara Hills. The fires happened in Hyderabad at 3:30 am and in Karimnagar at 3:51 am.
The first fire broke out at Hill Top Towers in Midhila Nagar, Bachupally, Hyderabad. The second was at Mathrusree Homeocare near Geeta Bhavan in Karimnagar. Officials reported that both fires were caused by electrical short circuits in air conditioners. Residents quickly called the emergency number Dial-112, which connects vital services like Police, Fire, Ambulance, Women’s Safety, Child Protection, and Disaster Management.
After the alerts, the TGERSS team coordinated with local police and fire stations in Bachupally and Karimnagar. Emergency teams arrived swiftly. In Bachupally, a person, frightened by the fire, jumped from the second floor, got injured, and was taken to a hospital. All other residents were evacuated safely. In Karimnagar, everyone was evacuated safely without injuries.
The quick and professional response of the emergency services highlighted the importance of Dial-112 during crises. This integrated system proved effective in ensuring public safety and averting potential tragedy. After recent fires from AC short circuits, the Director of TGiCCC advised proper maintenance of electrical appliances to prevent overloads.
The Telangana Police praised the courage and efficiency of the response teams. They encouraged residents to use Dial-112 in emergencies, emphasizing that timely calls can save lives and property.
