    Hyderabad – A tragic accident in Jawaharnagar led to the deaths of three sanitation workers, drawing heartfelt condolences from Mayor Gadwal Vijaylakshmi. On Friday, the mayor met with officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the Ramki Project to understand how the incident happened.

    During the discussion, representatives from the Ramki Project explained the cause of the accident. They assured the mayor that stronger safety measures will be put in place to stop such tragedies from happening again.

    Ramki Project Director Agarwal described the incident as unexpected. He emphasized that the team had followed all standard safety procedures. Still, he promised swift actions to prevent future accidents.

    Under the current public works agreement, each family affected by the accident will receive ₹15 lakh in compensation. So far, ₹4 lakh has already been released for each family as the first installment.

    In addition to addressing the accident, the mayor took time to review the overall cleanliness of the city. With Hyderabad preparing to host the Miss World competition, she stressed the urgent need to keep the city clean and presentable.

    She urged sanitation teams to stay alert and maintain high standards. The mayor warned that she will personally monitor cleanliness every day and take strict action if she finds any shortcomings.

    To improve waste management, officials informed her that the city has already installed 700 garbage bins, and another 300 will be added soon. The mayor also requested daily updates from the sanitation department to keep the city’s hygiene on track.

    Mayor Vijaylakshmi made it clear: every step forward must help turn Hyderabad into a world-class city.
