Hyderabad: Bandaru Dattatreya, the current Governor of Haryana, has earned deep respect across all communities in the Telugu states, said Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy at an event held in New Delhi on Friday.
The occasion marked the release of the Hindi version of Dattatreya’s autobiography titled “Janataki Kahani, Meri Atmakatha.” The book was launched by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, with several key leaders in attendance.
Among the dignitaries present were Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, and Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Kishan Reddy himself.
Kishan Reddy praised Dattatreya’s long and inspiring journey in Indian politics. Starting with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Dattatreya went on to hold key positions in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He served multiple terms as a Member of Parliament, became a Union Minister under Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and later worked in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet.
Calling Dattatreya a role model, Kishan Reddy shared a personal connection. “I began my political career under his mentorship,” he said. “Today, I serve as MP from Secunderabad, a seat that he held for four terms. His guidance shaped my journey.”
Reddy also highlighted Dattatreya’s work with Seva Bharti, especially in improving living conditions in slum areas during the time of undivided Andhra Pradesh. He credited Dattatreya’s efforts for bringing real change to underprivileged communities.
Despite facing hardships during the Emergency, Dattatreya stayed firm in his beliefs and continued to serve the public with dedication. Reddy noted that these qualities—commitment, discipline, and resilience—make Dattatreya’s life story a source of inspiration for today’s youth.
“His autobiography offers valuable lessons,” Reddy added. “It’s not just for politicians, but for every young person looking to make a difference.”
