People in the Telugu states are facing extreme and unpredictable weather. While some areas are burning under intense heat, others are bracing for thunderstorms and gusty winds.
On Friday, several districts in Telangana recorded high temperatures. Adilabad hit the hottest mark at 40°C, followed by Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, Khammam, and Nalgonda. Even Hyderabad, though slightly cooler, logged a minimum of 36.2°C.
The Hyderabad Meteorological Department expects the heat to continue. On Saturday, Adilabad is forecasted to reach 40.3°C, while Bhadrachalam may record a minimum of 36.6°C.
Despite the soaring heat, weather officials also predict moderate rains with thunderstorms and strong winds between 30 to 40 km/h in several areas. A yellow alert has been issued for 33 districts in Telangana due to the changing weather.
Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, the situation is just as serious. The Disaster Management Agency has warned that heat levels will increase further. On Friday, temperatures across the state were extremely high, and Saturday is expected to see levels between 42°C and 43.5°C.
Several regions, including Palakonda in Manyam district, Gokavaram in East Godavari, and Yeleswaram in Kakinada, may face heatwave conditions. By Sunday, extreme heat is expected in seven mandals, with 46 mandals at risk overall.
Alongside the heat, some areas may also see light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Districts like Alluri Sitaramaraju, Chittoor, Annamayya, and Sri Sathyasai may receive scattered showers, providing brief relief from the heat.
This mix of scorching temperatures and sudden storms is making daily life difficult for residents across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Authorities urge people to stay alert and take necessary precautions as the weather remains uncertain.
