Hyderabad: On Tuesday, N Koti Reddy, the Medchal Deputy Commissioner of Police, led a monthly crime review meeting for the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. The meeting stressed the importance of accountability, proactive policing, and resolving cases promptly. Officers were told to focus on thorough investigations and improving services for citizens.
The DCP reviewed cases still under investigation, including both serious and less serious ones, registered before 2023 and in the first half of 2024. Special attention was given to the progress of cases managed by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and the handling of Case Diary (CD) files.
The meeting also covered pending cases related to POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences), Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) issues, Magisterial Cases, and reports from post mortem examinations (PME) and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). The DCP highlighted the need for quick filing and strong coordination to investigate these areas effectively.
Furthermore, the performance of each police station in property recovery and conviction rates was evaluated. Discussions included keeping a watch on known criminals and updating suspect records for 2024 and 2025. Officers were instructed to ensure data accuracy in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) and address any discrepancies.
