Tummala Nageswara Rao, a minister in Telangana, recently held a video meeting with agriculture officials. The focus was on the effects of heavy rain on farming and the availability of urea fertilizer. He highlighted the importance of monitoring the Godavari River at Bhadrachalam, as it is expected to reach a critical flood level.
After speaking with the Bhadradri Kothagudem District Collector and the Superintendent of Police, the Minister urged local officials to ensure the safety and ease of residents.
Minister Nageswara Rao stressed the need for the state to promptly receive its August urea supply, given the pressing agricultural issues. He addressed criticisms from opposition leader Ramachandra Rao, stating that political arguments don’t help farmers.
“I respect Ramachandra Rao, but we must not politicize farmers’ issues. His recent comments lack basis,” he said, defending the government’s communication with the Centre about urea supply.
The Minister rejected allegations that the BJP is using the situation for political purposes. He encouraged Ramachandra Rao to work with the Centre on the urea shortage, affirming that the state is doing its best to support farmers while also seeking help from the central government.
