Rangareddy: Government officials in Rangareddy district have been asked to support people benefiting from the Indiramma housing scheme so they can start building their homes as soon as they are approved.
District Collector C Narayan Reddy held a meeting with officials at the Collectorate Complex on Tuesday. The meeting was to review the progress of the Indiramma scheme, a major government program aimed at helping homeless families in Telangana build their own houses.
The Collector told officials to help the beneficiaries begin construction quickly. He also said that officials must supervise the construction work to make sure it is done properly, on time, and according to the rules.
He shared that 78,788 applications were received across the district through gram sabhas. He added that if any eligible families were left out, efforts must be made to include them so they also get help under the scheme.
The Collector directed officials to make sure all beneficiaries receive the financial support promised by the government. Each Revenue Division Officer (RDO) will act as a special officer for their area. A gazetted officer should also be assigned to check if applicants are eligible and send regular reports.
He stressed the importance of completing the houses on time and following all rules. The goal is to ensure that every family under the scheme gets proper support to build their home.
Later in the meeting, officials also discussed the Rajiv Yuva Shakti scheme. They asked the Collector for permission to start collecting data to begin the verification process.
Additional Collector Pratima Singh, District Revenue Officer Sangeetha, and other officials from different departments took part in the meeting.
