Pasula Ramadevi has been chosen as the district president of the Telangana BC Mahasabha without any opposition.
Speaking to a group of women led by Vennasetti Kummari Ramachandraiah on Sunday, Ramadevi emphasized the importance of political awareness among women. She believes that this awareness is essential for the Backward Classes (BCs) to gain political influence.
Under the guidance of BC Mahasabha National President Mettudi Srinivas Mudiraj, a comprehensive women’s committee was formed without any contest.
Ramadevi urged BC women to move beyond being just a vote bank and to seek active roles in governance. She called on political parties to ensure women receive seats in the upcoming local body elections according to reservation rules.
She also demanded that the government provide a 42% reservation for BCs in these elections. Ramadevi encouraged women to effectively make use of government schemes.
The event included participation from prominent leaders like Telangana BC Mahasabha State Working President Kandamuri Brahmaiah, Hariprakash Goud, Kurmaiah, State Vice President Uma, Secretary Chandrakala Mudiraj, Mahasabha President Mettukadi Prabhakar Mudiraj, Kummari Sangham President Buggayya, Basavaraju, and many others.
