Hyderabad: Justice PC Ghose Commission, which is investigating the Kaleshwaram project, has completed about 90 percent of its report. The report is nearly 400 pages long, and the remaining work is expected to be finished by the second week of May.
The Commission resumed its investigation on Thursday. It is looking into the damage caused to the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages, as well as suspected irregularities in the construction of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme.
According to officials, the Commission reviewed the current draft of the report with some government officials. It also asked the irrigation department for more information about the damaged barrages. The final report will be completed once the Commission receives a report from the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA).
An official said the NDSA has informed the Commission that its report on the Medigadda barrage is delayed but will be submitted within three weeks. This report is necessary for the Commission to finish its own investigation.
The Commission also looked at a vigilance report related to the Medigadda barrage. It has asked the Vigilance and Enforcement department for clarifications on some points. Officials said that Justice Ghose may call and question more irrigation department staff before completing the investigation next month.
