Gadwal: In an important effort to improve healthcare in Gadwal district, MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy and District Collector B.M. Santhosh have asked officials to prepare proposals to hire more medical staff and assistant professors. This decision was made during the Hospital Development Society meeting held at the Collector’s conference hall on Wednesday.
During the meeting, District Collector B.M. Santhosh stressed the need to quickly gather and submit information about job openings for tutors, senior residents, associate professors, and assistant professors in medical colleges. He said that if the data is submitted by Saturday, job advertisements can be published by Monday. He also asked officials to review the hospital’s basic infrastructure needs and submit detailed proposals.
The Collector explained that the hiring of assistant professors, tutors, and senior residents would be handled by a district-level recruitment committee. For hiring technical and non-technical staff, he suggested using outsourcing agencies. He also said proposals should be made in partnership with TGMEIDC to set up a T-Hub extension wing, an oxygen plant, and a hospital canteen.
There was special focus on involving local women’s self-help groups, known as Mahila Shakti, in managing the hospital canteen. This is part of a plan to promote inclusive development. The Collector also told hospital authorities to make sure that all important medical services are available, so that the public does not face any difficulties.
MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy spoke about the need to offer all types of healthcare services directly at the Gadwal District Government Hospital. This would help reduce the number of patients being sent to hospitals in other districts, especially Kurnool. He also said that giving priority to local candidates when hiring medical staff would help improve service quality.
The MLA also proposed building a proper parking shed on the hospital grounds to better manage vehicles and provide organized parking. He urged hospital officials to carefully list all infrastructure needs and submit full proposals for them.
The meeting was attended by Hospital Superintendent Dr. Indira, Medical College Principal Dr. Nageshwar Rao, committee members, and other key officials.
This initiative is seen as a major step toward strengthening Gadwal’s healthcare system and making sure that quality medical services are available to everyone in the district.
