Hyderabad: Authorities in Secunderabad took action on Sunday to remove stray cattle from city streets, especially around the Secunderabad Railway Station.
The operation was led by the North Zone Traffic Police in partnership with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). Their goal was to respond to ongoing complaints from residents and commuters who said wandering cattle were causing traffic problems and safety risks.
Teams patrolled the busy railway station area and found several animals, including cows, bulls, and buffaloes, walking freely on the roads. They carefully moved the animals into special transport vehicles and sent them to nearby animal shelters for proper care.
Traffic ACP Shankar Raju, who oversaw the operation, said the drive was launched due to repeated public concerns. People had reported dangerous situations and delays caused by animals blocking roads.
As part of Sunday’s action, officials relocated two cows to safe animal shelters. More such drives may continue in the coming days to keep city roads clear and safe for everyone.
