Police arrest 2 for fake money sales

Hyderabad police have detained two men involved in dealing and distributing fake currency. Officers seized counterfeit notes worth Rs 2 lakhs. The suspects are Ansari Aftab Azeemuddin (22) from Aurangabad, Maharashtra, and Adil Hussain (22), a student from Langer Houz. Another suspect, Akash from Aurangabad, is on the run. The police retrieved 400 fake notes of Rs 500 each, totaling Rs 2 lakhs, along with three mobile phones and a motorcycle.

The arrests happened near Ramalayam, Sri Ram Nagar, First Lancer, in the Mehdipatnam police station area, under the Asif Nagar division in the south-west zone. A case was filed under Sections 179, 180, and 61(2) with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused have been sent for judicial remand.

G Chandra Mohan, DCP South West Zone, explained that the suspects planned to sell the fake notes to customers in need. They allegedly got these notes from Akash, who is still missing. The accused intended to sell the counterfeit money at Rs 30,000 for each Rs 1 lakh in fake currency.
