Gadwal: Leaders from the CPIML New Democracy party have urged the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) in Jogulamba Gadwal District to revoke the license of Jogulamba Central Lab in Ieeja town. They claim the lab endangered a pregnant woman’s life by giving a false ultrasound report.
On July 11th, a pregnant woman experiencing labor pains was taken by an ASHA worker to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Ieeja. Doctors there suggested an ultrasound to check her amniotic fluid levels.
The family went to Jogulamba Central Lab for the ultrasound, which showed a dangerously low amniotic fluid level of 3.4 cm. Concerned, the PHC medical officer referred the woman to the District Government Hospital for further care.
At the district hospital, a doctor confirmed low fluid levels and suggested a possible cesarean delivery. However, suspecting something was amiss, the doctor recommended another scan at Kranthi Diagnostic Center.
The scan at Kranthi Diagnostic Center revealed a normal fluid level of 11.12 cm, contradicting the earlier report. This discrepancy questioned the reliability of the Jogulamba Central Lab’s findings.
CPIML New Democracy leaders, including Jammichedu Karthik, Halimpasha, Harish, Danayya, and Raju, protested against the lab. They accused it of issuing false reports and endangering the woman’s life.
Their petition to the DMHO demanded the lab’s license be revoked, the lab be seized, a thorough investigation be conducted, and legal action be taken against those responsible.
This situation has caused public outrage, stressing the need for better regulation and accountability of diagnostic centers to prevent similar incidents.
