Munugodu (Nalgonda): MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy is taking a major step to improve government schools in his area. He aims to upgrade 43 schools with better facilities to serve at least 20,000 students in the Munugodu constituency.
Currently, only 9,500 students attend the 330 government schools in the constituency. Reddy is urging teachers and parents to work together to boost both quality and student numbers.
He also introduced a special program to honor hardworking students in government schools. The Komatireddy Susheela Foundation recognized top performers from Class 10 for the 2024–2025 academic year with awards and cash prizes. In total, 188 students from 62 schools were acknowledged. First-place students received Rs 15,000, second-place got Rs 10,000, and third-place winners earned Rs 7,500 each.
During the ceremony, Reddy emphasized that education is more valuable than wealth. He urged rebuilding trust in government schools, as private education often represents social status.
Reddy encouraged parents to be active in their children’s learning, warning against the distractions of online games and social media. He shared his own challenges and how his mother’s dedication inspired the foundation named after her.
He promised ongoing support for these educational efforts through the Susheela Foundation. Foundation chairman Komatireddy Laxmi and many students attended the event.
