Wanaparthy District: An awareness programme was held at the district collectorate on Wednesday to educate revenue officials about the new “Bhu Bharati – Land Rights Records 2025” Act. The session was attended by tahsildars, deputy tahsildars, revenue inspectors, and other staff. Key points of the new law were explained with the help of a PowerPoint presentation.
District Collector Adarsh Surabhi led the session, along with Additional Collectors G Venkateshwarlu and Yadayya, RDO Subrahmanyam, and DRDO Umadevi. The Collector said that the new Act replaces the old “Dharani” land system. He urged all revenue officers to fully understand the new rules and clear any doubts during the training.
Surabhi said the Act aims to solve land-related issues. If someone has a problem with a land mutation or a passbook issued by a tahsildar, they can now appeal to the RDO or Collector through a two-level appeal system. He also explained the process for issuing notices in cases of inherited land. Under the new system, both land registration and mutation can be done on the same day. Each piece of land will also get a unique ID called “Bhoodhaar.”
For government lands, officials were told to set up land banks in every mandal. These banks must keep detailed records, including survey numbers, land size, and current status. The Collector shared that a plan has been made to inform farmers about the new law. Starting April 17, meetings will be held in each mandal to raise awareness and answer questions.
Special arrangements will be made for these awareness sessions. A test was also held for tahsildars, deputy tahsildars, and revenue inspectors to check how well they understood the Act. The meeting was attended by officials from various departments, including MPDOs and municipal commissioners.
