Samagra Shiksha Employees’ Strike Enters Day 26 in Gadwal
The indefinite strike by Samagra Shiksha employees in Gadwal entered its 26th day on January 4, 2025. As part of their ongoing protest, the employees organized a rally from Smriti Vanam to the old bus stand. During the rally, they raised slogans and formed a human chain to express their dissatisfaction with unfulfilled promises. Later, the protest continued at Krishnaveni Chowk, where another human chain was created, accompanied by louder slogans.
The employees are demanding the regularization of their services, a promise made by Telangana Chief Minister Shri Enumula Revanth Reddy. They are also asking for the implementation of pay scales until their services are permanently regularized.
Union Leaders Speak Out
TPUS President Manohar Reddy urged the employees to remain steadfast in their fight, assuring them of the union’s full support. Similarly, TPUS General Secretary Sridhar Reddy emphasized the importance of consistent and determined agitation, stating that only persistent efforts could bring results. He also announced financial assistance for the striking employees on behalf of the union.
Active Participation
Several representatives from Samagra Shiksha actively participated in the strike. These included TPUS members Mohan Reddy, Rajasekhar Reddy, Madhu, Kranthi Kumar, Karunakar, Mallikarjun, and Muralidhar. Special Officers from KGBV schools across the district also joined the protests, including officials from Gattu, Gadwal, KT Doddi, Dharur, Ieeja, Maldakal, Vaddepally, Rajoli, Undavelli, Alampur, Manapadu, and Itikyala.
Additionally, representatives from various Samagra Shiksha wings, such as CRTs, PGCRTs, non-teaching staff, and others, were present daily. Leaders from the DPO Wing, MIS Wing, CCO Wing, CRP Wing, IERP Wing, and PTI Wing also stood in solidarity with the striking employees.
JAC's Support
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) played a significant role in supporting the strike. JAC District President Husnappa, General Secretary Gopal, and KGBV Women’s Wing President SP Pranitha worked alongside other wing leaders to ensure the protests’ success.
Demand for Justice
The striking employees reiterated their primary demand: the Telangana Chief Minister must honor his promise to regularize the services of all Samagra Shiksha employees. They also called for the immediate implementation of pay scales to provide interim relief.
The protests and indefinite strike will continue until these demands are met, as employees remain resolute in their fight for justice and job security.
