Hyderabad: On Saturday, Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka quickly responded to KT Rama Rao’s call for a debate on farmers’ welfare. She remarked that BRS party working president misunderstood Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s challenge. The CM actually invited former CM K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) to discuss issues in the State Assembly, not KTR. Revanth Reddy wants KCR, who holds the Leader of the Opposition position, to engage in a discussion.
Seethakka criticized the BRS party, saying it was no longer active. She pointed out that even K Kavitha, KTR’s sister, did not support his leadership. Kavitha mentioned in an interview that KTR is not their party leader. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the government prefers debates in the Assembly, not at the Press Club as KTR suggested.
Prabhakar urged BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao to formally request a special session from the Speaker for this discussion. He stated that open debates should occur in the Assembly, not the Press Club. Ponnam expressed confidence in the Congress achieving a strong victory in the upcoming local body elections. He reiterated that the Congress is prepared for Assembly debates on all issues.
