Former Minister and former leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, criticized BRS Working President K T Rama Rao’s claim that the Congress leadership in Telangana bowed down to Andhra leaders. Shabbir pointed out that former Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao was influenced by Andhra leadership for a significant part of his life, even naming his son after an Andhra leader.
Shabbir argued that KTR, named after an Andhra leader, has no right to criticize the Congress party. He emphasized that Telangana owes its existence to the Congress party and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, as acknowledged by KCR himself in the legislative Assembly.
Shabbir highlighted the welfare schemes implemented by the Congress Government in Telangana, including providing gas cylinders for Rs 500, free electricity up to 200 units, and free RTC bus travel for women. He also announced the launch of the IndirammaIndlu program to provide Rs 5 lakh for constructing houses for poor families.
He warned BRS leaders against baseless allegations to defame the Congress party, suggesting that they are afraid of losing their existence after the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Shabbir cautioned KTR and other BRS leaders against criticizing the top Congress leadership, threatening a stronger response from the Congress.
