Karimnagar is preparing for a significant celebration at the Sri Mahashakti Temple in Chaitanyapuri. This Sunday marks the temple’s 15th anniversary, and the festivities promise to be vibrant and spiritual. The temple, which houses powerful deities like Sri Mahadurga, Sri Mahalakshmi, Sri Mahasaraswati, Sri Lakshmi Ganapati, and Sri Ananta Nagendra Swamy, has become a spiritual hub in Telangana.

Union Minister Bandi Sanjay and Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Hampi Virupaksha Vidyaranya Swamy will attend the event, with the latter overseeing the ceremonies. The temple has been adorned beautifully for the occasion.

On Saturday, the temple’s management invited all Hindus to join the puja and receive blessings from the deities.

The day starts early with Panchamritabhishekam to Sri Lakshmi Ganapati Swamy at 4:30 am. This will be followed by rituals for other deities performed by Jagadguru. Activities like Swasti Punyavachanam, Ganapati Puja, and Akhanda Deeparadhana will take place at 8 am. Devotees can also witness Lakshmi Ganapati Homam, Rudra Sahita Chandi Homam, and other sacred ceremonies. Suhasinis will conduct a mass kumkuma puja and recite the Lalitha Sahasranamam and Hanuman Chalisa at 7 pm.

Over the past 14 years, the temple’s renown has spread across the state. It attracts devotees worldwide due to its unique dedication to three powerful goddesses. Each goddess represents different aspects of life: Shri Mahadurga for victory, Shri Mahalakshmi for blessings, and Shri Mahasaraswati for knowledge.

Festivals here are grand, with special poojas and homams held frequently. During Devi Navratri, thousands undertake Ammavari Diksha. The temple is also a popular site for children’s Aksharabhyasam, making it a center for mass literacy and Annaprasana ceremonies. Students often visit for blessings before exams, and it is customary to perform 11 circumambulations after a wish is fulfilled.

The temple’s history includes the dedication of the Navagraha deity along with other deities on June 17, 2010, under the guidance of Vidyaranya Bharti Swamy and temple administrators.
