Gadwal: Student union leaders have lodged a complaint with the District Collector, seeking action against Madhu Sudhan Reddy, the owner of Sri Krishnaveni Private School in Aiza Mandal. They are calling for the cancellation of the school’s recognition.
On June 27, a controversy erupted when PYL student union members, District Leader Danayya and Secretary Harish, visited Sri Chaitanya Private High School after hearing about the illegal sale of private books. They confirmed the activity and alerted the Mandal Education Officer (MEO).
Before the MEO’s arrival, Madhu Sudhan Reddy unexpectedly showed up, despite his school being three kilometers away. According to Danayya, the MEO arrived soon after. Reddy allegedly called his school bus drivers, who then used abusive language and tried to attack the student leaders, leading to a violent situation.
The student leaders questioned why staff from Sri Krishnaveni School were present at a different school. They accused Reddy of running a business rather than an educational institution, citing his drivers’ aggressive behavior.
They also accused Reddy of overcharging parents, claiming fees between ₹50,000 and ₹60,000 per student, from nursery to tenth grade, under various categories like books and uniforms. They doubted the school’s adherence to government rules, such as:
- Implementing the Fee Regulation Act
- Offering 25% free seats to underprivileged students as per the Right to Education Act
- Providing essential facilities like toilets and fire safety
- Allocating 50% of fees to staff salaries as per Rule 15, Section 4D
The student leaders condemned the illegal book sales and the aggression toward those exposing these practices. They noted that similar inspections at Sri Chaitanya Techno Curriculum High School and another school in Maldakal occurred without incident, questioning why the response was violent at Sri Krishnaveni School.
They demanded a fair investigation and strict action against Madhu Sudhan Reddy for inciting violence. They warned of a large-scale protest if the school’s recognition isn’t canceled swiftly.
The protest included leaders like BRSV Jogulamba Gadwal District Coordinator Kuruvu Pallayya, ASFY District Secretary Praveen, NPDY District President Chand Pasha, along with Tirumalesh, Rakesh, and others.
