Hyderabad: Film writer and actor Tanikella Bharani voiced his worries about students turning violent against their parents when they should be concentrating on their studies. He attended the closing ceremony of the two-day Saraswati Literary Festival at JNTU along with Cyberabad DCP Shilpavalli.
During the event, Bharani highlighted a recent tragic case where a boy killed his grandmother over a phone dispute. He stressed the importance of teaching children values early and cautioned against giving them mobile phones. Bharani urged students to appreciate their parents’ hard work.
He questioned why parents, who dedicate their lives to raising responsible children, end up in old age homes. Bharani encouraged parents to monitor their children closely rather than getting lost in technology, warning that neglect could lead to future problems.
Instead of phones, Bharani recommended giving children quality storybooks, sharing short stories, explaining their morals, and nurturing a love for reading.
DCP Shilpavalli added that students should not only hear stories’ morals but understand and apply them to plan their lives effectively.
