Hyderabad: Many retired government workers in Telangana are still waiting for their retirement benefits. On Monday, the Telangana Employees Coordination Committee (TECC) spoke out about the challenges these employees face and promised to push for solutions.
At a press conference, TECC leaders—many of whom are associated with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS)—highlighted the growing frustration among employees. Key figures like V Srinivas Goud and K Swamy Goud said the government has failed to meet several important promises.
The committee demanded that the government release five pending Dearness Allowances (DAs) by June 2, the state’s Formation Day. They also insisted that employees should receive their Pay Revision Commission (PRC) benefits, pensions, and access to cashless healthcare through the official health card system. Additionally, home guards have not received their salaries, which the committee says must be addressed immediately.
Swamy Goud urged the government to respect the demands of trade unions. He said around 10,000 retired employees have not yet received their retirement benefits. He also called for the cancellation of the new pension scheme and the return of the old pension system, as previously promised.
G Devi Prasad, another committee member, criticized the state government for ignoring employees’ concerns. He pointed out that a committee was set up to look into these issues, but after six months, no progress has been made. “What is the committee led by Naveen Mittal actually doing?” he asked. Prasad confirmed that TECC will continue to fight for employee rights until real action is taken.
Pathuri Sudhakar Reddy clarified that TECC isn’t a rival group but a unified platform aiming to solve workers’ problems. He expressed confidence that the committee will soon bring tangible benefits to government employees.
The TECC plans to intensify its efforts in the coming weeks, urging the government to act swiftly and fulfill its commitments to its workforce.
