Wanaparthy District celebrated Telangana State Formation Day with grandeur at the district IDOC premises on Monday. Preetham, Chairman of the State Scheduled Castes Cooperative Development Organization, was the chief guest. He was joined by District Collector Adarsh Surabhi, SP Ravula Giridhar, Wanaparthy MLA Thudi Megha Reddy, Additional Collector Revenue G Venkateswarlu, Additional Collector Local Bodies Yadayya, and Wanaparthy Market Chairman Srinivas Goud on stage.
The event began with the chief guest, the Collector, and MLAs paying floral tributes to the Telangana Martyrs' Stupa. The police force then offered a salute to the chief guest, who received a warm welcome from the district administration.
The national flag was hoisted, and attendees were greeted as they sang “Jaya Jaya Hey Telangana.”
During his speech, Preetham highlighted the district’s welfare and development programs, emphasizing Telangana's commitment to social justice and support for the poor and marginalized. He noted that the state has reached its 11th year, advancing in various sectors. Initiatives such as free travel for women on RTC buses and free electricity for households were mentioned. He also discussed the Bhu Bharati Act, aiming to quickly resolve land issues.
Telangana has gained international recognition, attracting significant government investments from visits to countries like America, South Korea, Singapore, Davos, and Japan. Successful events like the AI Global Summit, BioAsia Conference, and Miss World pageants were held in Hyderabad.
The event honored freedom fighters and their families who contributed to achieving Telangana Swarastra. Cultural performances by school children captivated the audience.
The chief guest, along with the Collector and MLA, visited and inspected stalls from the Police Department, SC Corporation, District Welfare Department, District Rural Development Department, District Medical Department, District Agriculture Department, and Municipal Administration and Housing Department at the IDOC premises.
The program saw participation from district officials of various departments, public representatives, staff, residents, students, and media representatives.
