Hyderabad: Telangana‘s Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, announced on January 12 that the state will soon set up a commission to reorganize its districts. This commission will be led by a retired judge from either the High Court or Supreme Court.

The announcement came during the unveiling of the 2026 calendar and diary for the Telangana Gazetted Officers Central Association. Reddy criticized the previous BRS government for conducting district reorganization without logic.

Reddy stated that the government is receiving many requests for changes to districts and mandals. He emphasized that decisions should not be influenced by politics. The upcoming committee will include a retired judge and experienced revenue officers.
