Telangana is gearing up to shine on the global stage by using the upcoming Miss World pageant as a major opportunity to promote tourism. The state government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has launched a wide-ranging campaign to attract more visitors and boost economic growth through tourism.

Over 120 countries will be represented in the competition, and the event will be broadcast in more than 150 nations. This global exposure gives Telangana a rare chance to showcase its cultural richness, historic sites, and modern facilities to a large international audience.

The campaign is part of a larger tourism strategy that aims to bring in over ₹15,000 crore in investments. The goal is not only to increase tourist arrivals but also to create new jobs and stimulate local economies.

From May 12 to May 21, the Miss World contestants will tour key locations across Telangana. Their journey starts in Hyderabad, with a Heritage Walk through the iconic Charminar and Laad Bazaar on May 12. On May 13, they’ll visit the elegant Chowmahalla Palace, a symbol of the city’s royal past.

May 15 is dedicated to spiritual tourism, with a visit to Yadagirigutta temple, followed by a trip to Pochampally, known for its world-famous handloom sarees. The next day, May 16, highlights medical tourism, with visits to top hospitals, Experience Park, and the ancient Pillalamarri banyan tree in Mahabubnagar.

On May 17, the group heads to Ramoji Film City, one of the largest film studio complexes in the world. May 18 includes a tour of the Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Centre, showcasing the state’s advanced security systems. That evening, the contestants will attend a session on Telangana’s development story and enjoy the vibrant Sunday-Funday Carnival at Tank Bund.

An IPL match at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium is also on the schedule for either May 20 or 21. The tour wraps up on May 21 at Shilparamam, where the contestants will take part in an arts and crafts workshop, interacting with local artisans and learning about traditional crafts.

Through this global event, Telangana is promoting a wide range of tourism experiences—heritage, spirituality, wellness, handlooms, and film tourism. The state hopes this initiative will not only attract more travelers but also position Telangana as a dynamic and diverse destination on the world tourism map.
