The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation MD, VC Sajjanar, mentioned that the responsibilities of the corporation’s employees have increased with the announcement of a 21% fitment. He expressed gratitude towards CM A Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar for making this announcement.
For the past three months, higher officials have been working on the wage revision of RTC employees. This announcement is historic as it fulfills the dream of employees who have been waiting for PRC for many years. Sajjanar conducted a virtual interaction with field staff from Bus Bhavan following the announcement of the 21% fitment as part of the 2017 pay revision.
He assured that the management is prioritizing the welfare of employees and will work to resolve any pending issues with the government and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. The corporation has already paid nine DA installments to staff, provided promotions in all categories, and is in the process of paying pending bonds worth Rs 280 crore with government support.
Additionally, free accident insurance of over Rs 1 crore has been extended to support families of personnel who died in accidents. The company also organized medical check-ups for 50,000 employees through the Grand Health Challenge, saving 300 people with heart-related diseases. Mahalakshmi scheme was implemented within 48 hours, and efforts to ensure free travel for women have been successful.
In the last 90 days, 25 crore women have been safely transported to their destinations. The company’s collective efforts have led to winning five national public bus transport excellence awards. Sajjanar emphasized the importance of working at double capacity to clear dues and operating buses without reducing occupancy ratios to ensure passenger convenience.
