Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has received the ANRF-PAIR Grant for Research and Innovation in Health and Medical Technologies. This grant is part of a national program, and only seven such projects have been selected across the country.
The ANRF-PAIR program (Anusandhan National Research Foundation – Partnerships for Accelerated Innovation and Research) is designed to build strong partnerships between top academic and research institutions in India. In this model, a main institute acts as the “hub,” working closely with other partner institutions called “spokes.”
The main goal of this program is to encourage important, high-quality research that addresses both national needs and global scientific challenges. UoH will lead a group of six other universities, creating a network of 173 co-principal investigators from a wide range of fields.
The partner (spoke) institutions include Osmania University, Central University of Karnataka, Venkateswara University, Yogi Vemana University, Mahatma Gandhi University, and Kannur University. Together, they will work on research focused on health problems such as diabetes, fatty liver disease, dengue, malaria, and various forms of cancer including breast and blood cancer.
As the central hub, UoH will guide and coordinate the work with these universities to speed up innovation, encourage teamwork across different research areas, and develop practical solutions to major health issues.
