Hyderabad – A letter from BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha to her father and party chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has sparked intense speculation within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Many party members now wonder if she is planning to launch a new political party.
The letter, dated May 2, surfaced recently while Kavitha was on a U.S. tour. It reflects her opinions—both positive and critical—about the BRS’s recent silver jubilee public meeting near Warangal.
What makes this letter stand out is not just its content, but the fact that Kavitha is KCR’s daughter and the sister of KT Rama Rao, the party’s working president. Her decision to write instead of speaking directly to her father has stirred political debates and raised eyebrows within the party.
According to a senior BRS leader, Kavitha chose to write the letter to make a stronger impact. The letter suggests she’s unhappy with her current role in the party. Sources say she wanted a more prominent position to lead initiatives, but KCR reportedly advised her to remain low-profile due to her recent legal troubles linked to the Delhi liquor scam.
Despite this, Kavitha has stayed active. She continues to organize events under the Telangana Jagruti banner, a group she founded during the Telangana statehood movement. She’s also been touring various districts, including in the lead-up to the silver jubilee celebrations.
Insiders believe she’s unlikely to leave the BRS immediately. However, they don’t rule out the possibility of her launching a new political outfit in the future. With a strong network through Telangana Jagruti, she already has the groundwork for a separate organization if she chooses that path.
For now, all eyes remain on Kavitha and how her next steps might reshape the political landscape in Telangana.
