Hyderabad: On Friday, Ravindra Bharathi became the stage for a vibrant celebration known as Guru Pooja Utsavam. The event, filled with rhythm and devotion, featured a standout performance by Gummadi Bhanvi. Her rendition of Shivathandavam captivated the audience, creating a memorable experience.
The Bharat Arts Academy organized this festival under the theme ‘Gurudevobhava’. It highlighted the lively spirit of Indian classical arts with performances by children and young artists from well-known schools and dance academies in the city. Students from A. Ramadevi Dance Academy in Nizampet added elegance with their Kuchipudi recitals.
Bhanvi’s performance was particularly impressive due to her precise movements and emotional expression. She performed the challenging Siva Thandavam with ease, receiving loud applause and admiration from the audience.
The event also featured other notable performances like Brahmanjali, Alalu Kuriyaga, the devotional Ganesha Stotra – Mooshika Vahana Modaka Hasta, and classics like Adivo Alladivo. These pieces enriched the cultural atmosphere of the evening.
