Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has called on banks to support the launch of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, set to roll out on June 2, in celebration of Telangana Formation Day.
During the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) meeting on Thursday, Bhatti explained the government’s mission. The goal is to provide sanction letters to 5 lakh unemployed youth under this self-employment program. He asked banks to fully back this major initiative.
The Deputy CM stressed how important it is to use the skills of educated youth. He warned that leaving their potential untapped is a big loss for the state. By guiding them toward entrepreneurship and industry, the government aims to grow Telangana’s GDP and create jobs.
Bhatti highlighted that no other Indian state has introduced a scheme of this size. The government plans to invest ₹9,000 crore to help 5 lakh young people start their own ventures. He added that those who don’t get government jobs can still contribute through business and innovation.
To make the plan effective, he requested the SLBC to appoint a special nodal officer. This officer would help coordinate efforts between banks and ensure strong monitoring at the local level.
Bhatti also urged banks to play an active role in the state’s growth. He encouraged them to help meet the 2025–26 Annual Credit Plan goals. He reminded everyone that cooperation between banks and the government is key to building a more peaceful and successful society.
