Gadwal: A serious sanitation issue has emerged in TT Doddi village in Aija Mandal, Jogulamba Gadwal district. BJP Mandal President Gopalakrishna led a visit that revealed blocked drains, stagnant water, and a strong, unpleasant smell troubling the residents, particularly affecting school children.
During the inspection, BJP’s former District President Ramachandra Reddy voiced his concerns about the poor hygiene situation. He pointed out that drains filled with silt and blocked canals are causing wastewater to spill onto roads. This overflow is creating mosquito breeding grounds and spreading bad odors. A government school nearby is exposed to these unsanitary conditions, putting students’ health at risk.
Reddy criticized the state government for ignoring the Panchayati Raj system and not empowering village administrations. He claimed that the Panchayati Raj Act is being neglected in Telangana, hindering welfare and development programs from reaching rural areas effectively.
The BJP leaders highlighted that many villages in the state face similar sanitation and development issues due to lack of attention. They urged for immediate local body elections, emphasizing that elected representatives are essential for ensuring proper governance and cleanliness. They warned that without elections, rural communities would continue to suffer from these preventable problems.
The visit ended with a public demand for quick government action to restore essential civic services in TT Doddi. Participants included Gadwal contested MLA Balgera Shiva Reddy, Pradeep Swamy, Narasanna Goud, Shashi Kumar, Giddanna, Gopalu, Shankaram, and many village residents.
Key Demands:
- Immediate cleaning and repair of village drainage systems
- Measures to stop mosquito breeding
- Prompt local body elections
- Better implementation of sanitation and development initiatives at the village level
The demand for action shows increasing frustration among rural communities over government inaction, highlighting the urgent need for infrastructure improvements in Telangana’s villages.
