Gadwal: A group of BJP leaders, led by Rajaka Jayashree Narasimha, the BJP Town President, met with the District Collector. They voiced concerns about the lack of transparency in sharing beneficiary names for the Indiramma Housing Scheme in Wards 29 to 36. Despite selecting many beneficiaries, these individuals have not received the official documents or materials needed to start building their homes.
Beneficiaries Struggle Without Homes
The BJP group stated that officials chose some applicants for housing loans in the past administration. However, they did not issue the necessary official orders (GO/proceedings orders). As a result, beneficiaries who demolished their homes, hoping to build new ones with the Rs. 5 lakh grant per house, are now homeless and left on the streets due to government delays.
Demands From BJP Leaders
During the meeting, BJP leaders asked for:
- Immediate issuance of official proceedings for all selected beneficiaries in Wards 29 to 36.
- Quick supply of essential construction materials like sand, gravel, iron, and cement to those chosen.
- Fast-tracking the approval of new ration cards for eligible people in these wards.
- Publishing a complete beneficiary list for each ward, which has not been done yet.
They highlighted that the lack of transparency and action has severely impacted families relying on the government’s housing assistance.
District Collector’s Quick Response
The District Collector responded promptly, acknowledging the problem and contacting officials to address the issues immediately. The Collector promised resolution within a week, offering hope to the affected citizens and BJP activists.
BJP Leaders at the Meeting
The meeting included several BJP leaders like Devadasu, the OBC Morcha District President, Anil, OBC Morcha State Executive Member, Chittari Kiran, Town General Secretary, Ramesh, Town Vice President, Krishnaveni, Nagaradinne Padma, W.D. Narasimha, OBC Morcha General Secretary, Dilwale Krishna, Vinod Shekhar, Mulakalapalli Narasimhulu, and others.
The delegation thanked the Collector for the swift response but stressed the need for ongoing monitoring to ensure all deserving beneficiaries receive their due support.
This issue highlights the need for effective governance and clear communication at the local level. With high public expectations and promises of infrastructure development, welfare programs must be executed transparently and on time to prevent such crises. The upcoming week is critical for over a hundred families waiting to realize their dream of a safe and dignified home.
