HYDERABAD: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has launched a strong campaign against the current Congress government. Led by K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the BRS is highlighting a severe fertilizer shortage affecting farmers and blaming the government for not addressing the issue.
At Gun Park, BRS organized a “Urea Protest,” where members displayed empty fertilizer bags to symbolize the challenges farmers face. KTR criticized the Congress, saying such shortages were unheard of during the BRS’s decade-long rule. “Farmers are lining up, leaving their shoes and Aadhaar cards to keep their place. This is due to the Congress’s poor management of agriculture,” he stated.
The BRS plans to challenge the government in the upcoming legislative assembly session. KTR demanded a session lasting at least 15 days and expressed readiness to discuss any topic, including agricultural issues and the Kaleshwaram project. He dared the Congress to address these topics confidently.
KTR also accused the government of causing over 600 farmer suicides due to the crisis. He claimed the government manipulates assembly discussions to focus on politically beneficial topics, ignoring real problems. “They promised ‘Six Guarantees’ but delivered only empty promises,” he remarked, pointing out issues like unpaid student fee reimbursements.
As the Telangana assembly session approaches, the BRS is positioning itself as a representative of the people. KTR emphasized that their goal is to hold the Congress accountable for what he describes as failed governance and betrayal of public trust.
