Hyderabad: Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, D Sridhar Babu, has urged countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to encourage their local business leaders to invest in Telangana. He said the state offers a supportive environment for setting up industries.
The Minister was speaking at the second India–Latin America and Caribbean Countries Business Conclave, held in Hyderabad on Saturday. The event was organized by the Global India Business Forum (GIBF). During his speech, he explained the various benefits and incentives the Telangana government provides to industrialists.
He also noted that trade policies introduced by former U.S. President Donald Trump, especially the tariffs on goods from several countries, have indirectly helped India. As a result, many global investors are now looking at India as a good place to invest.
Sridhar Babu said Telangana is working hard to take advantage of this interest and attract more investments. He believes the state will play a key role in India’s economic growth. The government has also introduced a new policy to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) compete globally.
He promised that the state government would fully support any industrialist willing to invest in Telangana. He also revealed that six international companies, including three from South Korea, have shown interest in investing in the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) at Zaheerabad.
The government is also focusing on setting up industries in smaller cities and towns across Telangana. Special attention is being given to agro-processing industries to help farmers become successful business owners.
Finally, Sridhar Babu spoke about the cultural and economic similarities between Telangana and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. He invited them to work closely with Telangana. The event was attended by GIBF members including Joshi, Chakravarthy, and Dr. Seetharam.
