Wanaparthy District is taking steps to introduce computer education early in schools. District Collector Adarsh Surabhi emphasized the smooth implementation of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) training program in government schools. This initiative aims to teach children essential computer skills.
On Tuesday morning, Collector Surabhi visited the Government High School in Kothakota Municipality and another in Manigilla village within Peddamandadi mandal. He observed AI classes for students in grades 3 to 5, watching how they interacted with computers.
The District Education Officer (D.E.O) provided details about AI training across the district. Currently, students in grades 3 to 5 from 11 schools are learning computers. Additionally, students in grades 6 to 12 at KGBV and Model Schools are also receiving training.
Collector Surabhi stressed the need for reliable internet in these schools and the importance of students using headsets during AI lessons. He highlighted that each student should have a unique user ID for these sessions.
The Collector inquired about a special handbook designed for tenth-grade mathematics. He emphasized that lessons should follow this handbook to ensure no student fails in math this year.
After his visits, he checked on the progress of new school building projects. He advised contractor Krishna Reddy to finish the construction within the deadline.
The Collector was joined by District Education Officer Mammad Abdul Ghani, Kothakota Tahsildar Venkateshwarlu, Peddamandadi Tahsildar Saraswati, CMO Mahanandi, and various school principals during his visits.
