Gadwal – Leaders from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) raised concerns about unfair practices in the selection of beneficiaries for the Indiramma Housing Scheme. They claimed that the scheme is not helping people who truly need homes.
According to BRS representatives, many people already owning houses are being added to the beneficiary list. Meanwhile, those living in huts or temporary shelters are being ignored. This has caused frustration among genuinely homeless villagers who were left out.
The BRS accused powerful individuals of using their influence to get houses for their supporters. They said political pressure is being used to sway government officials, pushing out the poor from the list.
Party leaders met with the District Collector to present a formal complaint. They demanded a full investigation into the selection process and asked that only the truly homeless and economically weak be considered first.
The delegation was led by BRS State Leader Nagar Doddi Venkata Ramulu, along with key district members including Adhika Rehman, Gajula Krishna Reddy, Tower Maqbool, Rafi Marlabidu Maheshwar Reddy, Munnuru Veerareddy, Vagula Thaireddy, Royal Pawan, and L. Raju.
They called for transparency and fairness in the distribution of homes, urging officials to stick to the original goal of the housing scheme—helping those without shelter.
