Hyderabad: Telangana State Police has been ranked as the top police force in the country, according to the India Justice Report 2025. Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender expressed pride in this achievement and praised the efforts of all police personnel across the state.
The ranking was based on 32 performance indicators, including training, infrastructure, and how well police stations serve the public. During a meeting with Station House Officers (SHOs) on Saturday, DGP Jitender explained that the recognition was possible because of the hard work and dedication shown by officers at all levels.
He encouraged SHOs to continue improving their work and to stay focused on delivering justice. He stressed the importance of accepting complaints with care and carrying out proper investigations to ensure the truth is upheld.
DGP Jitender reminded officers that their main duty is to protect the public. He warned that any failure in doing so could harm the reputation of the police force. To help improve accountability, QR codes have been placed at all police stations so that SHO performance can be tracked more easily. He also urged officers to learn how to use the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) effectively.
The DGP also suggested that officers seek feedback from their family members and others around them to better understand how they are performing. He encouraged everyone to meet public expectations and aim to be outstanding officers.
Additional DGP (Law & Order) Mahesh Bhagwat also spoke at the meeting. He reminded SHOs to act responsibly and maintain a good image, both in the eyes of the public and within the department. He noted that Telangana Police officers receive competitive salaries and advised them to avoid any form of corruption that could damage the force’s reputation.
