Hyderabad saw a significant political event on Thursday. A Congress leader called for action against Mallu Ravi, the newly appointed chairman of the Telangana PCC Disciplinary Action Committee, accusing him of going against party interests.
The issue arose at a review meeting for the Nagarkurnool Parliamentary area, organized by Meenakshi Natarajan, the AICC in-charge for Telangana, at Gandhi Bhavan.
During the meeting, S A Sampath Kumar, a former Alampur MLA, demanded action against Mallu Ravi, also the Nagarkurnool MP, for his alleged anti-party activities in Alampur. Despite Ravi’s recent appointment as chairman of the disciplinary panel, Kumar voiced his concerns.
Supporters of Sampath Kumar caused a stir, stating they would inform Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Sampath Kumar, an AICC secretary, was upset with Ravi’s actions in Alampur. He filed a complaint with Meenakshi Natarajan, expressing dissatisfaction with Ravi favoring local BRS MLA Vijayudu over Congress members, which he felt was harmful to the party.
Kumar shared on X that Ravi, during a visit to Gadwal district, traveled with BRS MLA Vijayudu to meet Congress leaders, honoring and entertaining him.
Meanwhile, G Chinna Reddy, a former chairman of the PCC Disciplinary Action Committee and vice chairman of the Telangana State Planning Board (TSPB), faced rivalry from Wanaparthy MLA T Megha Reddy. Megha Reddy, who left the BRS before the 2023 elections to run as a Congress candidate, was also present at the meeting.
Chinna Reddy proposed forming a coordination committee to address local issues. He suggested a team of five party members could effectively handle such disputes.
