Hyderabad – With temperatures soaring across the state, the EAPCET 2024 exams for Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy are set to begin this week under strict guidelines and special arrangements.
The agriculture and pharmacy entrance tests will take place on April 29 and 30, while the engineering exams are scheduled from May 2 to 4. Each exam will be held in two sessions—9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Nearly 3.5 lakh students are expected to attend these exams. The engineering test will be conducted at 124 centres, while the agriculture and pharmacy stream will run in 112 centres across the state.
Authorities at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) have issued a clear warning: students must be on time. Even a minute’s delay will lead to being denied entry.
Gates will open early—7:30 AM for morning sessions and 1:30 PM for afternoon sessions. University officials stressed the importance of arriving well before the start time to finish hall ticket and ID verification smoothly.
“If students arrive exactly at 9 AM or 3 PM, they’ll miss out on valuable time needed for verification,” said a senior JNTUH official.
In a first, hall tickets now feature a QR code. When scanned on a smartphone, the code links directly to Google Maps, helping students find the exact location of their exam centre quickly and easily.
To help students cope with the extreme heat, authorities have arranged drinking water, fans, and even first aid kits at all centres. ORS packets will also be available in case of heat-related illness.
Officials urge all candidates to come early, stay hydrated, and follow instructions carefully to ensure a smooth exam experience.
