Hyderabad: The government is working on a new sports policy to encourage students across the State to take part in sports. The goal is to help students develop sportsmanship and prepare them for competitions at the national and international levels.

A meeting was held at Tourism Plaza to discuss the details of this draft policy. The meeting was led by A P Jithender Reddy, the Advisor to the Government on Sports Affairs. The focus was on how to strengthen the sports system in the State and motivate young people to start participating in at least one sport from a young age.

Earlier this month, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of sports and expressed his commitment to supporting athletes. He also announced that the government will introduce a sports policy that will be presented in the Assembly. Principal Secretary Vani Prasad, who attended the meeting, noted the suggestions made and promised to relay them to the Chief Minister.
