Hyderabad saw a big drop in temperatures on Friday, with the day’s high reaching only 32.2°C. That’s 7.8°C cooler than the usual for this time of year. Typically, the city bakes under the sun with highs between 40°C and 43°C during late May.
Experts believe this unusual coolness is likely due to the early arrival of the monsoon. This shift in weather has brought noticeable relief from the city’s usual summer heat.
The lowest temperature recorded on the same day was 23.9°C, which is 3.1°C below normal. Even with these cooler conditions, there was no rainfall in the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 AM IST.
Humidity levels stayed high. In the morning, relative humidity was at 72%, dropping to 55% by the afternoon, indicating moist air despite the lack of rain.
The weather forecast for the next seven days shows mostly cloudy skies. Light rain or thunderstorms are expected at times. Day temperatures will likely stay between 32°C and 35°C, and nights will remain mild, with lows between 23°C and 25°C.
From May 27 onward, forecasters expect a higher chance of thunderstorms and lightning. The ongoing cloud cover and humid conditions could lead to scattered showers across the city.
